I-17 RE-ROUTE STILL THREATENS MAGGIE MINE ROAD

Please help preserve the entire canyon!
It is NOT too late to convince ADOT to make the
best decision for the canyon!  But it soon will be.
ADOT plans to finalize documents in Fall 2009.

Sending comments is NOT a waste of time!  ADOT
collects all public comments and incorporates them
into its planning reports.  That's how we got them to
eliminate Alternative H.  ADOT does make changes
that reflect public concerns, so there is every
reason to believe it will do so again.

There has NOT been a final decision yet!  But ADOT
is actively planning this project, so the time to act is
now.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has eliminated "Alternative H,"
a plan that would have re-routed I-17 through the Bumble Bee valley,
following Maggie Mine Road (at the north end of Black Canyon City),
Bumble Bee Road, and stretching north all the way through the valley to
Bloody Basin.
ALTERNATIVE E, WHICH WOULD SWING SIGNIFICANTLY WEST OF I-17 AND
CUT THROUGH THE "OLD ROAD" (MAGGIE MINE), IS STILL ON THE LIST.

PLEASE HELP CONVINCE ADOT TO CHOOSE ALTERNATIVE D AND
KEEP I-17 IN ITS CURRENT PATH.

But the trouble is not quite over...  The canyon still needs your
